WHERE MY SHOES TAKE ME: ZACH ANDERSON
Where do your shoes take you? That’s the question we posed to Zach Anderson in our new video series, “Where My Shoes Take Me.” As a mega-talented photographer that travels the globe, and who happened to shoot the Two24 Fall 2018 ad campaign, his answer makes perfect sense: “All over the world. I feel like LAX is my second home.”
“My shoes have to work well under pressure like my camera equipment and I do,” said Zach, who can be seen hard at work here in a pair of grey Lockwood boots. I really like boots, honestly. That's all I've ever worn. They are an extension of my style and personality."
Zach’s been shooting since he was old enough to pick up a camera. His dad’s a photographer too, which inspired Zach very early on and aimed him in that same direction for his career. “Photography is my passion,” he said. “It feeds my soul and gets me up in the morning. It’s what I’m here to do.”
This year, Zach won an award for Luerzers Archive’s “200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide,” and was nominated by Photo District News as a new and emerging photographer under 30 to watch. Zach also shot the Fall 2018 women’s Western fashion ad campaign for our parent brand, Ariat. And once upon a time, he interned at Rolling Stone and Men’s Journal. Chances are you may have run into him at a concert without even knowing it; he’s been to at least 1,500 of them.
Zach attributes his success to always putting in hard work, being ever curious, and constantly learning. “I want to inspire people like so many photographers have inspired me,” he said. “Also, I just wanna make my dad proud.”
